Legal Notice Demands Rs 5 Crore from Actress Nayanthara

Actress Nayanthara’s documentary was released on Netflix last November. In the documentary, she discussed aspects of her personal life, including her marriage. A behind-the-scenes video from the movie ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,’ directed by Vignesh Shivan, was used in the documentary. However, the film’s producer, Dhanush, filed a lawsuit seeking ₹10 crore in damages, claiming the footage was used without his permission. This case is ongoing.

Recently, reports have surfaced that a notice demanding ₹5 crore in damages has been sent to Nayanthara for using scenes from the movie ‘Chandramukhi’ in the documentary without authorization. The notice was reportedly issued by A.P. Films, who now hold the rights to ‘Chandramukhi.’

Amid these developments, it has come to light that Sivaji Productions, the original producers of ‘Chandramukhi,’ have provided an unrestricted certificate allowing Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s production company, Rowdy Pictures, to use certain video clips from the film. This certificate has been shared widely on social media.
