Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan deletes ‘X’ account amid Nayanthara-Dhanush feud

Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan deletes ‘X’ account amid Nayanthara-Dhanush feud

Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has deactivated his X account. Vignesh Shivan was recently in the news for his legal battle with actor Dhanush, who had sued the director and his wife and actor Nayanthara over a copyright dispute.

Vignesh Shivan was also trolled on social media for being part of a 2024 pan-India roundtable for a YouTube channel. People questioned his presence in the panel as the filmmaker’s last project was Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which released in 2022.

The director’s next is touted to be Love Insurance Company, not a pan-India film as per reports but a straight Tamil film with Pradeep Ranganathan as the hero. The makers released the film’s first look in July, 2024.

Recently, actor-director Dhanush filed a law suit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan for the usage of certain visuals related to the Tamil movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the docu-drama titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. Dhanush had produced the 2015 romantic comedy.

Prior to the law suit, Nayanthara had blasted Dhanush for his legal notice related to the copyright issue. In an open letter, the actor accused Dhanush of sabotaging her documentary and holding a personal grudge against her and her partner.
