Ghantasala biopic announces its release date

The Telugu film Ghantasala the Great, a biopic on the life of singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, has announced its release date. At an event held in Hyderabad recently, the makers of the film starring singer Krishna Chaitanya in the titular role, announced that the film will release in theatres on February 14, 2025. Krishna Chaitanya’s wife Mridula will portray Ghantasala’s wife Savitri in the film written and directed by Ch Rama Rao. 

The release date poster was unveiled by former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu who asserted the relevance of the film narrating the story of the legendary singer. “Society needs to know about the life of Ghantasala, the Telugu freedom fighter, singer and music director. Ghantasala is referred to as Shatabdi Gayakudu (singer of the century). I call him an immortal singer. When he sang hymns from the Bhagavad Gita, people would listen with devotion. As long as there is music, he will be in people’s minds.”
