Vijay and Thol Thiumavalavan to lay foundation for an alliance between TVK and VCK?

Actor Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), recently made headlines by announcing at a party conference that he would consider sharing power if they ally with other parties for upcoming state elections. This statement, political analysts suggest, was an indirect invitation to the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) for a potential alliance.

In response, Thol. Thirumavalavan, the VCK leader and a current ally of DMK, voiced criticism over Vijay’s remarks. Despite this, rumours are circulating that Vijay may attend an upcoming VCK event, heightening interest in Tamil Nadu’s political scene. The event is set for November 6 in Chennai and will unveil a 2,000-page book on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which includes contributions from 28 authors, one being VCK Deputy General Secretary Aadhav Arjuna.

Reports indicate that Thirumavalavan will officially release the book, with Vijay receiving the first copy—a move that, if confirmed, could suggest a developing collaboration between TVK and VCK. Analysts note that Vijay’s presence at the event may hint at a possible alliance between TVK and VCK ahead of the 2026 elections, adding further anticipation to Tamil Nadu’s evolving political landscape.
