Pro Kabaddi League: Ashok Shinde appointed as new head coach of Puneri Paltan

Yuva Paltan mentor Ashok Shinde was appointed as the head coach of the Puneri Paltan squad for the remainder of Pro Kabaddi League 11 on Friday.

He will take over from B.C. Ramesh, who had stepped away from the post after Puneri Paltan’s loss to U Mumba at the Balewadi Stadium. “Our coach, @bc_ramesh_kabaddi_official , steps into a new role. He will now be part of the advisory team, where his insights will continue to fuel our ambitions,” the PKL team’s Instagram handle read.

The Paltans had retained Ramesh as coach after their first PKL trophy in the season. Following the win, Ramesh credited the team’s success to its commitment to youth development and specifically acknowledged the contributions of the team’s mentor, Ashok Shinde, for cultivating young players at Yuva Paltan.

Yuva Paltan began in 2017 as a residential program where players stayed together and competed in over 15 local tournaments throughout the year. This laid the foundation for their impeccable chemistry on the mats in the PKL.
