Bayern Munich’s Davies, Coman join Kane in injury list
Bayern Munich players Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman suffered injuries in the side’s 4-2 win against FC Heidenheim on Saturday in the Bundesliga, the club confirmed on Sunday.
“Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman have both suffered torn muscle fibres against 1. FC Heidenheim yesterday. Both players will be sidelined for the time being,” a statement from the German club read.
While Coman was substituted off during second half’s stoppage time, Davies finished the match. The duo joins forward Harry Kane to add to head coach Vincent Kompany’s woes. The Englishman missed the league match with a thigh injury, which also kept him out of the side’s 0-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup.
The Bavarians face Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League. Kompany’s men sit 13th in the standings, with the top-eight directly slated to make the knockouts.
In the 2024-25 Bundesliga, Bayern next goes to Mainz on December 14 with eyes on increasing its lead on top of the table.
