Sameer Rizvi scores double hundred in U23 State A Trophy
Uttar Pradesh cricketer Sameer Rizvi on Saturday notched up the fastest double century in the Men’s U23 State A Trophy against Tripura in Vadodara.
Rizvi got to the landmark in 97 deliveries, hitting 13 fours and 20 sixes and taking his side to 405. Uttar Pradesh won the contest by 152 runs.
This was Rizvi’s third century in the ongoing U23 competition. He is now the top run-scorer at 518 runs from four essays.
The flamboyant batter first made headlines when Chennai Super Kings signed him during the Indian Premier League auction in 2023 for a whopping sum of Rs. 8.40 crore.
He scored 51 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 118 during the 2024 season. At the mega auction for the next season, Rizvi was roped in by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 90 lakh.
