WATCH: Retiring Jesus Navas receives guard of honour, standing ovation before Real Madrid vs Sevilla match

Spanish legend Jesus Navas received a guard of honour as well as a standing ovation before the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Sevilla at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

It was the final match of Navas’ two decades long professional career. The player did not start the fixture for Sevilla but was named as one of the substitutes.

Navas also received a Real Madrid jersey, signed by the players of the current La Liga champion, from Luka Modric.

Navas, a right-back, played club football for Sevilla and Manchester City. With Sevilla, he won four UEFA Europa League, two Copa del Rey and one UEFA Super Cup titles while at Manchester City, he was member of the team that won the Premier League in 2013-14.

Navas played 56 matches for Spain and won FIFA World Cup 2010, UEFA European Championships in 2012 and 2024, and UEFA Nations League 2023 with the national side.
