FIFA World Cup 2006 winner Alessandro Nesta was sacked by Serie A outfit AC Monza as its manager on Monday after the club released a statement.

“AC Monza announces that it has relieved Alessandro Nesta of his duties as First Team coach. The Club thanks the coach for what he has done so far and wishes him the best for the future,” the statement read.

This decision comes after Monza fell to a 1-2 defeat against Juventus which continued the side’s stay at the bottom of the table, languishing in 20th with just 10 points after 17 matches.
