India registers its joint-highest total in WODIs

India Women registered its joint-highest ODI score during the second match against West Indies Women at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday.

The team smacked 358 for five in 50 overs, equalling its record of 358 for two against Ireland Women in Potchefstroom in 2017.

After opting to bat first, India started well once again with opener Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal stitching another 110-run partnership. While Smriti brought up her 29th WODI fifty, Pratika scored her maiden international half-century.

A mix-up in the middle cost Smriti her wicket but Harleen Deol picked up from where she left off and notched up her maiden international hundred. Jemimah Rodrigues, too, smashed a fifty.

This is also India’s highest WODI total at home, surpassing its previous record of 325 for three against South Africa in Bengaluru earlier this year. In the opener, India smashed 314 for nine, its then second-highest total at home.
