NBA: Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards fined for profane language in post-match comments

The NBA, on Monday, fined Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards $75,000 for criticising the referees of Saturday’s game between Minnesota and the Golden State Warriors.

The league said Edwards used “inappropriate and profane language” during a post-match media session after the Timberwolves’ 113-103 loss.

This is the second time in two weeks Edwards’ post-match comments will cost him some cash.

The 23-year-old was fined $25,000 on December 9 for using profane language during an interview after Minnesota won at Golden State 107-90 three days earlier.

A two-time All-Star, Edwards leads the Timberwolves (14-13) with 25.6 points per game this season with 5.4 rebounds and four assists per contest.
