Bumrah breaches 900 ICC Test Rating Points, becomes second Indian bowler achieve this feat
Jasprit Bumrah breached ICC’s 900 Test Rating Point mark to become only the second Indian bowler after R Ashwin to achieve this feat on Wednesday.
Bumrah, who is currently the top-ranked Test bowler, achieved 904 rating points. He is now joint with Ashwin’s best which he achieved in 2016 during the Test series against England.
Overall, Bumrah is the 26th player to go past 900 points in Tests, a list headed by England’s Sydney Barnes, who achieved best rating of 932 in 1914.
Among the current cricketers, Australia’s Pat Cummins achieved 914 points in 2019, and Kagiso Rabada from South Africa got to 902 points in 2018.
In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, Bumrah is leading the wicket-taking chart with 21 scalps in three games at an average of 10.90.
