IND vs AUS, 4th Test: Why are India players wearing black armbands on Day 2 against Australia?

The Indian team took the field wearing black armbands on the second day of the fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane to pay respect to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who passed away aged 92 on Thursday.

Manmohan served as the head of State from 2004 to 2014. He is credited for his ‘cricket diplomacy’ which tried to revive political ties between India and Pakistan through the sport.
