Rajinikanth meets Gukesh D, Youngest World Chess Champion

Indian Chess player Gukesh Dommaraju aka Gukesh D recently became the youngest World Chess Champion at 18 years and 195 days of age, by defeating reigning Chinese player Ding Liren at the World Chess Championship 2024. 

 

Gukesh incidentally achieved his youngest world champion feat on December 12, 2024, the same day Superstar Rajinikanth turned 74. Celebrations surrounding Chennai based Gukesh’s victory on Tamil twitter, did not fail to notice this, while also observing that Gukesh’s real life father is also named Rajinikanth. 

 

Post Gukesh D’s return to Chennai, he and his family were invited to Rajinikanth’s residence, and the Chess Champion on Thursday took to the X platform to thank the actor for the gesture. Sharing clicks with Rajinikanth, Gukesh D wrote, “Thanks Superstar @rajinikanth sir for your warm wishes and inviting ,spending time and sharing your wisdom with us.”

 

Grandmaster Gukesh D currently ranks No: 5 in the world behind Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Fabiano Caruana (USA), Hikaru Nakamura (USA), and Erigaisi Arjun (India).
