The long-awaited trailer for , starring Chiyaan Vikram and directed by Pa Ranjith, is finally set to drop on July 10. This news comes after the makers announced the trailer’s release date on July 8 with a new poster.

It featured Chiyaan Vikram amidst fellow workers at the Kolar Gold Fields. The film, which has faced several delays, is now gearing up for a potentially grand theatrical release in August, pending an official confirmation.

Director Pa Ranjith recently unveiled the new poster on social media, teasing the film’s themes of gold quest and liberation with the caption, “A quest for gold and a battle for liberation meet through bloodshed #ThangalaanTrailer July 10 (sic).”

Originally scheduled for release in January 2024, has faced multiple postponements due to unavoidable circumstances. Now, there are strong indications that August 15 has been locked in as the new release date, which may be formally announced alongside the trailer.

, directed by Pa Ranjith, promises to be a gripping historical action drama with Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role. The ensemble cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Arjun Anbudan, and Sampath Ram. The film’s narrative is set against the backdrop of Karnataka’s Kolar Gold Fields. The storyline revolves around a tribal leader’s resistance against British efforts to exploit their lands for gold mining.

Produced jointly by Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios, boasts a screenplay by Pa Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiya Periyavan. The film’s technical crew includes composer GV Prakash Kumar, editor Selva RK, and cinematographer Kishor Kumar, ensuring a visually stunning and emotionally resonant cinematic experience.
