Babar Azam scores first fifty since 2022 during SA vs PAK 1st Test

Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored his first Test half-century since December 2022 during the first Test against South Africa in Centurion on Saturday.

Babar reached the milestone off 80 balls before being dismissed for an 85-ball 50 by Marco Jansen.

His last score of fifty or more came against New Zealand in Karachi. Since then, he has suffered an astonishing slump in form, during which he failed to score fifty runs or more in 19 consecutive innings.

His highest score during this period was a 79-ball 41 against Australia in Melbourne last year.
