IND vs AUS, 4th Test: Nitish, Washington register second highest 8th-wicket partnership for India in Australia
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar recorded India’s second highest eighth-wicket partnership in Australia during day three of the fourth Test in Melbourne on Saturday.
The pair added 127 runs, crossing the previous best of 107 runs which was added by Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in 2008. However, the duo fell short of two runs to surpass the highest partnership of 129 runs between Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh in 2008.
Nitish and Sundar got together at 221 for seven when Nathan Lyon pinned Ravindra Jadeja in front with the side still in a deficit of 253 runs. When Sundar got out, India’s score read 348 for eight with a deficit of 126 runs.
