Keerthy Suresh Corrects Paparazzi After Name Mix-Up During ‘Baby John’ Promotions

South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh, currently promoting her Bollywood debut ‘Baby John’ alongside Varun Dhawan and Wamiqa Gabbi, recently encountered a misidentification incident with paparazzi in Mumbai. The film, which premiered on December 25, has been receiving favorable reviews.

During a promotional event, Keerthy, dressed in a sleeveless denim outfit and notably wearing her mangalsutra, was addressed as ‘Kriti’ by photographers. Visibly perturbed, she promptly corrected them, stating, “It is not Kriti; it is Keerthy.” The situation escalated when some photographers referred to her as ‘dosa,’ a colloquial term sometimes used for South Indian celebrities, which has previously sparked controversy. Maintaining her composure, Keerthy responded with a smile, “Keerthy dosa nahi, Keerthy Suresh hai, aur dosa mujhe pasand hai,” indicating her preference for the dish while asserting her identity.

‘Baby John’ is the official Hindi adaptation of Atlee’s Tamil film ‘Theri,’ which originally starred Thalapathy Vijay. Directed by Kalees, the film marks Atlee’s debut as a Bollywood producer. Despite the promotional efforts, the movie garnered an opening day box office collection of ₹13 crores.

On the personal front, Keerthy recently married her childhood friend and long-term partner, Antony Thattil, on December 12 in Goa. The wedding was a star-studded affair, with notable attendees including Trisha Krishnan, Thalapathy Vijay, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.

Keerthy Suresh’s poised handling of the paparazzi’s misidentification underscores her professionalism and grace, further endearing her to fans as she embarks on her Bollywood journey.
