Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre becomes youngest player to score 150+ in List A cricket, breaks Jaiswal’s record

Mumbai opener Ayush Mhatre became the youngest player to register a 150+ score in a List A game, during his side’s Vijay Hazare Trophy group-stage match against Nagaland in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old Mhatre smashed a 117-ball 181 to eclipse the record previously held by Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who accumulated 2013 against Jharkhand in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy when he was just 17 years and 291 days old.

Mhatre — aged 17y 168d — scored 15 fours and 11 sixes against Nagaland as he powered Mumbai to a mammoth total of 403 for seven in the first innings.

Playing just his debut senior domestic season, Mhatre has already made his mark in the Ranji Trophy, scoring a hundred against Maharashtra in October.
