Shruti Haasan: “My Greatest Strength Is My Faith in God”

Shruti Haasan, the multi-talented daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan, has carved a unique path for herself as a singer, music composer, actress, and model. Currently starring in director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kooli, Shruti recently shared insights about her personal journey in an interview with a private news agency.

When asked about the source of her inner strength, Shruti revealed, “My greatest strength is my faith in God. Interestingly, this faith didn’t come from my upbringing – it was something I discovered within myself.”

She elaborated on her unconventional background: “I grew up in an atheist household. My father is famously non-religious, and while my mother is a spiritualist, our home lacked any concept of God. Despite this, I found my own connection to the divine. I firmly believe in the power of God, and this belief has guided me through various phases of my life.”

Shruti recounted an anecdote from her childhood, reflecting on how her faith began to take shape. “In the colony where I grew up, there was a cycling path, but I was restricted from riding near the main entrance. However, I would often hear the bells from nearby temples and churches. Curiosity led me to explore these places, especially the church, which was closer to my home. For months, I would quietly visit without anyone in my family knowing.”

She also shared a poignant memory involving her grandfather. “The first time I went to a temple was with my grandfather in Chennai. He took me there when I was a little girl and asked me not to tell my father about it. Sadly, he passed away shortly after that, but I felt a deep spiritual connection with him that remains to this day.”

Shruti’s journey of faith is a testament to her introspection and resilience. Despite her unconventional upbringing, she discovered her own path to spirituality, which she credits as a guiding force in her life.
