La Liga 2024-25: Why was Valencia vs Real Madrid postponed?

La Liga 2024-25: Why was Valencia vs Real Madrid postponed?

Real Madrid will take on Valencia in their rescheduled fixture in La Liga on December 3 at the Mestalla as both sides look to secure crucial points in La Liga.

The match will be new Valencia manager Carlos Corberan’s first match in charge in the league. He has joined from West Bromwich Albion as he takes over from the outgoing Ruben Baraja. He will be looking to arrest his side’s poor run of form which has seen it drop to 19th in the table.

Real Madrid will be looking for a victory that sends it to the top of La Liga. Carlo Ancelotti’s side is currently in second, one point behind city rival Atletico Madrid. Its recent form has been strong as well, with three wins in its last five games.

The initial fixture between the two sides was scheduled to be on November 2 but was postponed on account of heavy flash flooding in Valencia. The clash was one of a number of fixtures that were cancelled in November on account of heavy flooding in the region that resulted in several lives being lost.
