Liverpool vs Manchester United: What happened in the last LIV v MUN clash in Premier League?
Manchester United will look to ride on its spirit of derby wins to finding winning ways after four consecutive losses, against Liverpool in their Premier League match at Anfield on Sunday.
United beat Manchester City in its previous derby but has been far from impressive since, losing all its matches since, mounting pressure on manager Ruben Amorim. So much so that the manager has confessed that he was not ruling relegation out for the Premier League giant.
Its next rival is table-topper Liverpool, which has been in flying form under new manager Arne Slot, and has lost just one game in the league so far, a 0-1 loss to Nottingham Forest in September.
Before the clash, Sportstar has a look at what happened in the previous match between Liverpool and Manchester United.
Two goals from Luis Diaz and one from Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool stroll to a 3-0 victory at Manchester United in the Premier League.
Liverpool dominated a United team which could not keep pace with it in the first half, the visitors taking the lead in the 35th minute through a back-post header from Diaz after United midfielder Casemiro had given the ball away.
Casemiro was again at fault for Diaz and Liverpool’s second, again supplied by Mohamed Salah, with the Colombia international sweeping home three minutes before the break, sending United supporters off for their halftime refreshments early.
With United on the ropes, Liverpool smelled blood after the break, Salah adding a third 11 minutes into the second half, but the visitor settled for three as it maintained its 100 per cent record this season under new coach Slot.
