Indian 3 posing a problem for Game Changer: Details

Indian 3 posing a problem for Game Changer: Details

Before the New Year, Tamil cine industry was buzzing with the news that Lyca Productions, the banner behind Shankar directed Indian 2 (2024), and the upcoming Indian 3 (2025), is attempting to block the release of the director’s Telugu film Game Changer (January 10, 2025) in Tamil Nadu.

Word back then was Lyca Productions approached the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council to stop the release of Game Changer after Shankar demanded Rs. 60-80 Cr, including a personal remuneration of Rs. 30 Cr. to complete the shooting of Indian 3. Lyca Productions was willing to bear the cost of making Indian 3, but wanted Shankar to give up his remuneration owing to the losses incurred on Indian 2

While Lyca blamed that Shankar had not shown them how much of Indian 3 has already been filmed, Shankar on the other hand is said to be pointing to an agreement among Indian 2 producers Red Giant Movies, Lyca Productions and himself, where it was agreed how much each of their remuneration would be.

As Game Changer is four days away from release, negotiations are going on with respect to its screening in Tamil Nadu theaters. Director Shankar is said to have told the Tamil Nadu producers’ council that Indian 3 has a song and some portions left to be filmed, and that it will be done post Game Changer‘s release.
