Nayanthara Beyond The Fairytale: NOC from Chandramukhi makers contradicts copyright claims!

Nayanthara Beyond The Fairytale: NOC from Chandramukhi makers contradicts copyright claims!

Sivaji Productions’ managing partner Ramkumar Ganesan issued no-objection letter to Rowdy Pictures, has now surfaced following reports that the makers of Chandramukhi sent Nayanthara, Vignesh Sivan and Netflix a legal notice demanding Rs. 5 Cr. in compensation over copyright and IP infringement.

The NOC letter dated November 2, 2024 permits Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s Rowdy Pictures free usage of two AVs timestamped 01:13:06:00 and 01:18:58:00 in the docufilm. The total runtime duration of these AVs is 17 seconds.

The claim that Chandramukhi makers would demand a copyright fee of Rs. 5 Cr., does come across as odd, given that they were thanked in written by Nayanthara for their magnanimity in letting her use the film’s footages.

Now this NOC letter signed by Ramkumar Ganesan explicitly states that Rowdy Pictures along with its affiliates will be held harmless in the event of claims or disputes arising out of the usage of Chandramukhi video clips.
