Kadhalikka Neramillai: Jayam Ravi, Nithya Menen’s The Switch-esque rom-com has a trailer release
Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi directed Kadhalikka Neramillai is a rom-com starring Jayam Ravi, Nithya Menen in the lead, and the movie releases on January 14, 2025 (Tuesday). Kadhalikka Neramillai trailer dropped Tuesday late evening, and the video reveals a modern day romance on the lines of the Hollywood movie The Switch (2010), starring Jennifer Anniston, and Jason Bateman.
While The Switch revolved around single woman in her thirties, wanting to become a mother via a face-to-face sperm donor, as opposed to using a sperm bank, which would keep the father’s identity anonymous, Kadhalikka Neramillai showcases a similar aged Nithya Menen getting pregnant, and trying to find out details about the father of her child.
The Switch has Jason Bateman accidentally becoming the father of Jennifer Anniston’s child unbeknownst to both of them. It is hinted in Kadhalikka Neramillai trailer that Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen are in a similar situation, but under a completely different set of circumstances in comparison to the Hollywood movie.
Kadhalikka Neramillai also stars actress TJ Bhanu in a pivotal role. Others in the ensemble include Yogi Babu, Vinay Rai, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini Vaidyanatha, Rohaan Singh among others. The film has AR Rahman for music, Gavemic Ary for cinematography, and Lawrence Kishore for edits. Red Giant Movies has produced Kadhalikka Neramillai, which is titled after another Tamil rom-com from 1964.
