Bumrah continues to reign Test bowling rankings, Boland enters top 10; Rishabh Pant placed ninth among red ball batters
Jasprit Bumrah continued to reign the ICC men’s Test bowling rankings, adding one rating point to go up to 908 while Pat Cummins of Australia and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada inched a slot each to reach second and third positions respectively.
Bumrah picked 32 wickets during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in nine innings.
However, the biggest gainer in the latest rankings was Australia’s Scott Boland who broke into the top 10 for the first time after a memorable Test series against India where he claimed 21 wickets in six innings.
The 35-year-old, who finished with a haul of 10 for 86 in the fifth Test match, progressed 29 slots and is ranked joint-ninth along with India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Among the batters, Rishabh Pant returned to top 10 rankings as he progressed three places to end up at ninth place. Joe Root currently leads the Test batting rankings with 895 points.
