Double Olympic gold medallist Maria Verschoor stressed the importance of clicking the right connection with players in the women’s Soorma Hockey club as they hail from different places in a bid to have favourable results in the inaugural edition of the women’s Hockey India League.
The Dutch sensation is set to make her debut in the women’s HIL set to begin from January 12-26.
“The training session was really good, this is the fourth training together and since we are all from such different places so we really need to get the connection going and it was really nice,” Maria told PTI Videos in Chandigarh on the sidelines of their practice session on Wednesday.
She revealed that the team members undergo a thorough discussion in making their strategy work.
“We had a few practice matches, so we played yesterday and then we watched the videos and we talk about it, we all have different kinds of styles to play hockey so we talk about it and discuss what to do and get on the same page of what we wanna do and it goes really well,” she signed off.
