Aryna Sabalenka will be looking to become the first woman to win three titles in a row since 1999 when she competes in the 2025 Australian Open this year.

Sabalenka, who defeated Zheng Qinwen in the 2024 final, could be the first woman to achieve the three-peat at the ‘Happy Slam’ since Martina Hingis in 1999.

She will face fierce competition from the likes of Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, seeds two and three respectively, who will be looking to win their first Australian Open titles.

Serena Williams has the most Australian Open women’s singles titles (7) in the Open Era.

This year’s Australian Open will be held from January 12 to 26 at the Melbourne Park.
