Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty reached the semifinals of the Malaysia Super 1000 badminton tournament on Friday.
The duo defeated the Malaysian pair of Yew Sin Ong and Ee Yi Teo 26-24, 21-15 in 49 minutes.
In the first game, the seventh-seeded Indian pair took an early lead in a tight 28-minute contest.
The Malaysian pair fought back in the second game, leading for most of the time until the interval. However, the Indian pair levelled the score at 11-11 and then seized the lead after the break.
