Tyson Fury announces retirement from boxing amid rumours of Anthony Joshua fight

Former heavyweight World Champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement from boxing amid rumours of a fight against Anthony Joshua in Wembley this year.

The 36-year-old last fought in his rematch for the WBA (Super), WBC and WBO titles against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

Fury had originally announced his retirement after beating Dyllian Whyte in 2022 but returned just six months after the announcement.

“I’m going to make this short and sweet,” the British fighter said in a post on Instagram. “I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast.”
