Australian Open 2025, January 16 schedule: Sinner, Swiatek feature in second-round matches; Indians in action in men’s doubles

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will continue his title defence at the Australian Open 2025 in Melbourne on Wednesday when the Italian takes on local wildcard Tristan Schoolkate in the second round.

Three-time runner-up Daniil Medvedev will be up against American qualifier Learner Tien.

In women’s singles, second seed Iga Swiatek will take on Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova in the opening match on the Rod Laver Arena.

Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli and N. Sriram Balaji, the remaining two Indians in men’s doubles, will begin their campaign with their respective partners.
