Thug Life: OTT Release Date of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam’s film on Netflix
Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is an upcoming Mani Ratnam film that releases in theaters on June 5, 2025 (Thursday). In September 2024, the movie’s digital rights was bagged in a record breaking deal by Netflix, for a whopping price of Rs. 149.7 Cr.
Now Netflix has officially announced that Thug Life will stream on its platform in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages after its theatrical release. The expected Thug Life OTT release date is July 3, 2025.
When Amaran produced by Kamal Haasan ran extraordinarily well in theaters, Netflix made the exception of pushing the film’s digital premiere by a week. So another potential Thug Life OTT release date is July 10, 2025, given the film sustains 5 weeks at the box-office.
It is worth mentioning here that Mani Ratnam’s last two films Ponniyin Selvan: I and Ponniyin Selvan: II, both managed to make digital premieres (on Amazon Prime Video) only after five successful weeks of theatrical run. Thug Life like the Ponniyin Selvan movies is also a big multi-starrer with AR Rahman for music.
