Parthiban helps diffuse a Vidaamuyarchi Ajith Vs Leo Vijay situation

Parthiban helps diffuse a Vidaamuyarchi Ajith Vs Leo Vijay situation

Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi recently had a trailer release, and the video drop was accompanied by a new poster from the movie. A Tamil netizen sent out a X post likening Ajith’s look in this Vidaamuyarchi poster to Vijay’s signature look from Leo (2023), captioning it, “Parthiban Hair Style , Parthiban Dress Code , Parthiban Weapon”.

Actor Vijay’s character in the Leo movie is named Parthiban, and this X post had all ammunition for an Ajith Vs Vijay situation, which is almost an everyday occurrence on Tamil twitter. However this was quickly diffused by actor Parthiban, who handled the X post in the most Parthiban-way.

The actor-filmmaker’s reply read, “Thank you Bharani (name of the X user) for your love towards me. AK’s unique style is greatly admired by world (Parthiban expresses world using the Tamil word Dharani, to rhyme with the X user’s name Bharani which also showcases the intent to be his signature jab). The owner of incomparable style (Ajith Kumar), I told ‘Amarkalam’ Saran (director of Ajith’s 1999 film) yesterday evening that some directors are not even as lucky cars and bikes to get to travel with him!!!”

Responses to Partiban’s post were divided over whether the actor’s reply was an intentional snide, or an accidental snafu. But the actor clarified that he was aware of the Parthiban in question, in a follow up tweet.
