Director Mysskin’s Controversial Statement on Music Legend Ilaiyaraaja

In his speech, Mysskin remarked, “Drinking alcohol is a state of being. Those with deep sadness often resort to it and eventually succumb to addiction. I, myself, am a heavy drinker. However, I have faith in life. There is something far more intoxicating for me — cinema. Director Akira Kurosawa is my greatest addiction. But even beyond him, Ilaiyaraaja stands as my ultimate intoxication. You could say he has been responsible for making many of us drunk.”

Although the statement was made in a seemingly lighthearted manner, it has drawn criticism on social media platforms. Many netizens have criticized Mysskin for his remarks, citing a lack of decorum during the event.
