Indian women’s team wins inaugural Kho Kho World Cup

The Indian women’s team won the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on Sunday after easing past Nepal 78-40 in the final.

The dominant display from the home side was consistent with its superiority right through the tournament. Former captain Nasreen Shaikh, who won the 2023 Arjuna Award, announced after the final that she was retiring from kho kho.

Later in the day, the same opponents face each other in the men’s final.
