Chaitra B, the standout player from the Indian Kho Kho team, expressed her elation after being named the Best Player of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025. India won the tournament, securing the top position.
“I feel happy today and it’s a proud moment for me and team India, we got first position.” she said
Chaitra attributed her success to the support of her team, coaches, and the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI). She specifically thanked Sudhanshu Mittal, her coaches Sumit and Munni, and her captain for their encouragement and guidance.
Chaitra revealed that her captain’s motivational words and her coach’s advice to take as many points as possible helped her perform at her best throughout the tournament.
Our captain was also very supportive, she motivated me saying, it’s your dream run, you will play well. Sumit sir told me to take as many points as possible”
The Indian women’s team emerged champion in the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup with a dominant 78-40 victory in the summit clash against Nepal here on Sunday.
On a memorable night at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here, India produced a masterclass of speed, strategy and skill, dishing out a clinical show.
