Arjun, Gukesh set to play in Norway Chess 2025

Reigning World champion D. Gukesh and India No. 1, Arjun Erigaisi, have been announced as part of the final lineup for the 2024 Norway Chess tournament. The event is scheduled from May 26 to June 6 at the Finansparken (SR-Bank) in Stavanger City.

The lineup for the tournament includes home favourite Magnus Carlsen, as well as Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, and Wei Yi. Two other Indian players in the competition are R. Vaishali and Koneru Humpy.

“It’s an honour to play in the prestigious Norway Chess Women’s tournament,” Humpy stated in a media release after her participation was confirmed earlier this month.

The tournament will consist of 10 rounds, with rest days scheduled for May 30 and June 4. Currently, Arjun, Gukesh, and Vaishali are competing in the Tata Steel Chess tournament in the Netherlands.
