Sportstar Focus Bihar Conclave: Patna set to welcome host of Olympians with CM Nitish Kumar as chief guest

The Sportstar Conclave caravan’s third edition moves to Patna for the first-ever Focus Bihar Conclave, set to take place in the capital city on January 24.

A host of speakers will discuss key issues pertaining to the sports ecosystem in the region.

Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh, double-Paralympic medal-winning athlete Sharad Kumar, former Paralympic Committee of India chief Deepa Malik, AIFF (All India Football Federation) president Kalyan Chaubey, and Indian women’s hockey team head coach Harendra Singh are among the many speakers who will feature in the event.

B. Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports, Government of Bihar, and Raveendran Sankaran, Director General and CEO, Bihar State Sports Authority, are also among the esteemed panellists in this conclave.

Other speakers include veteran Winter Olympian Shiva Keshavan, former Athletics Federation of India chief Adille Sumariwalla, and badminton player Aditi Mutatkar.

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary, will inaugurate the day-long conclave and deliver the opening address for an exercise that will bring sporting stakeholders from Bihar and outside it under one roof.

The Honourable Chief Minister of the State, Nitish Kumar, will deliver the closing remarks.

As per tradition in the Sportstar Conclave series, two awards will be presented — Unsung Champion (Lifetime Achievement Award for a sporting veteran) and Young Champion (to a promising athlete under 18 years of age) — from the State.

The Sportstar Focus Bihar Conclave is presented by the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Department of Sports, Government of Bihar.
