Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Rohit Sharma scores 3 runs on return for Mumbai against Jammu & Kashmir

Rohit Sharma’s first innings for Mumbai in nearly a decade proved short-lived, as the India captain was dismissed for just three runs against Jammu & Kashmir in their Ranji Trophy Round 6 fixture at the BKC Ground on Thursday.

Opening the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit faced just 19 deliveries before departing with his team’s total on 12. Looking to work pacer Umar Nazir’s length delivery through the on-side, Rohit got a leading edge, which was safely caught by the fielder at short cover.

Jaiswal also failed to impress, being dismissed by Auqib Nabi for just five runs off seven deliveries.

The duo’s return to the Mumbai squad followed the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) mandate for international players to feature for their domestic teams.

Rohit also had a poor run in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scoring just 31 runs in five innings.
