Ranji Trophy: Shubman Gill scores 4 runs on return for Punjab against Karnataka

Shubman Gill marked a lacklustre return to domestic cricket after he scored just four runs in the first innings for Punjab against Karnataka on Thursday in their Round 6 Ranji Trophy fixture.

Returning to the side after the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) mandate for international players to play for their domestic teams, Gill failed to play a substantial knock.

He started well, picking a cover-driven boundary against Abhilash Shetty, but the bowler had the last laugh when he had the batter caught behind.

Gill had a middling run in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he scored just 93 runs in five innings and failed to register a single score of 50 or more.
