Md. Reyan awarded ‘Young Hero Award’ at Sportstar Focus Bihar Conclave 2025

Chess prodigy Mohammad Reyan was awarded the ‘Young Hero Award’ award at the Sportstar Focus Bihar Conclave 2025 held in the city on Friday.

The young chess aficionado from Patna has been making significant strides in the chess world since he began playing in 2019 at the age of 8. Currently studying in Class 8 at GD Goenka Public School, the young achiever has already earned multiple laurels in the sport.

Reyan secured the first position in the 37th National U-13 Open Chess Championship 2024 held in Durgapur, West Bengal. He also bagged the first position in Open 12 Team Standard Chess and the second position in Open 12 Team Blitz Chess competitions held in Bali, Indonesia.

The prodigy was also declared the Under-11 champion during the Asian Schools Chess Championship 2022 held in Sri Lanka. Reyan’s journey in chess is a testament to his hard work and determination and he is poised to achieve great heights in the sport in the coming years.
