Kiccha Sudeep Rejects State’s Best Actor Award: Here’s Why
Bengaluru: Renowned actor Kichcha Sudeep has declined the Karnataka State Government’s Best Actor Award for his performance in the film “Pailwan” and has apologized for his decision. The Karnataka Government recently announced the Kannada Film Awards for 2019, where Sudeep was honored with the Best Actor Award for his outstanding performance. While many congratulated him, his decision to reject the award surprised everyone.
Sudeep shared his thoughts on this matter through his social media platform, expressing gratitude for the honor but revealed why he decided to decline the award. He stated, “It is a great honor to receive the best actor award from the state. I sincerely thank the jury for this recognition. However, I have been avoiding receiving awards for the past few years due to personal reasons, and I am continuing with that decision.”
He further added, “There are many deserving actors who completely dedicate their lives to the art. If this recognition goes to them, I would feel immense happiness. My fulfillment comes not from awards but from captivating the audience with my work. This recognition motivates me to strive for excellence in my craft. To the jury members and the state government, I express my apologies if my decision causes any disappointment. I hope my choice will be respected, and I trust that they will continue to support my journey.”
He signed off by thanking the jury and expressing regret for any discontent caused by his decision, reiterating that it was made after careful consideration.
