ONE 170: Tawanchai, Fabricio Andrade showcase dominance; Nabil Anane dazzles Nico Carrillo
Tawanchai PK Saenchai extended his win streak, demolishing one of the pound-for-pound striking greats in Superbon for the second consecutive time on Friday during the co-main event of ONE 170 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok.
After a tentative first round, Tawanchai came out guns blazing, knocking Superbon down three times to earn a TKO victory.
Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Fabricio Andrade showed why he is nicknamed “Wonder Boy” as he defended his bantamweight MMA strap with a first-round TKO of Kwon Won Il.
It took him 42 seconds to stop the dangerous South Korean knockout artist for the second time in a row.
In the first co-main event, Nabil Anane and Nico Carrillo clashed for the ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship.
With four consecutive knockout victories in ONE and 15 straight wins overall, Carrillo was favorite, but 6-foot-4 Anane scored three knockdowns in a round for a TKO win to become the new interim titleholder.
Additionally, Bampara Kouyate stunned local favourite “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in their Muay Thai clash, while Brazilian Marcelo Garcia made a victorious comeback after a 14-year hiatus.
