List of Australian Open men’s singles champions in Open era: Jannik Sinner wins 2025 edition, becomes 11th man to retain title
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner retained the Australian Open title in Melbourne on Sunday with a 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 victory over World No. 2 Alexander Zverev.
Italy’s Sinner is the 11th man in the Open Era to retain the title in Melbourne. He had come back from two-sets-to-love down last year to defeat Daniil Medvedev in the summit clash.
Aged 23 years 163 days, Sinner is also the youngest man to win multiple Australian Open titles since Jim Courier in 1992-93.
Novak Djokovic has won the tournament a record 10 times.
