Padma Bhushan Ajith Kumar fifth Tamil film actor to receive India’s third highest civilian award

Ajith Kumar is now the fifth male actor from Tamil cinema to receive the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honor. Ajith is among the 19 recipients of the 2025 Padma Bhushan awards, which are given out for distinguished service of high order

 

 The Padma awards which also include Padma Vibhushan, and Padma Shri are announced annually marking the Republic day in India, which falls on January 26 every year. Actor Ajith’s name is the latest to be added to the list of Padma title holders in the Tamil film industry.

 

 

Reacting to his Padma Bhushan, Ajith Kumar released this statement via his manager Suresh Chandra:
