Shobana to Play a Powerful Role in Bollywood’s ‘Ramayana’ Following Padma Bhushan Recognition

The recent announcement of the Padma Awards by the Central Government brought accolades to three prominent South Indian film stars: Ajith Kumar, NTR Balakrishna, and Shobana, who were honored for their contributions to the arts.

Following this recognition, actress Shobana has landed a pivotal role in the upcoming Bollywood magnum opus Ramayana. The film, a high-budget adaptation of the epic, features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with advanced technology being utilized to craft visually stunning scenes.

Adding to the star-studded cast, KGF fame Yash has been roped in to play Ravana. Shobana, meanwhile, will portray Kaikeyi, Ravana’s mother, in a menacing and impactful role that is expected to leave a lasting impression.

The production of Ramayana is currently in full swing, and fans are eagerly anticipating its grand release, which is slated for Diwali 2026. With its stellar cast and ambitious scale, the film promises to be a cinematic spectacle.
