Karate Babu: Name politics & Ravi as RK Nagar MLA

Actor Ravi Mohan’s 34th film is titled Karate Babu, and the movie’s title teaser reveals the politics behind a name. Karate Babu title teaser is set in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly house, where actor Nasser as the sitting Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, invokes the politics behind the name of actor Ravi Mohan’s character. 

 

Actor Ravi plays an elected member of the legislative assembly (MLA) of India from the Tamil Nadu state’s opposition party. Ravi’s character goes by MLA Shanmuga Babu who was formerly known as Karate Babu, a name given to him by the RK Nagar people, according to the film. 

 

Karate Babu is written and directed by Ganesh K Babu of Dada (2023) fame. The film has Daudee Jiwal playing female lead. Karate Babu’s technical crew includes Sam CS for music,  Ezhil Arasu K for cinematography,  Kathiresh Alagesan for edits, Shanmugaraja for production design, Dhilip Subbarayan for action, Sathish Krishnan for choreography, and Gayathri Balasubramanian for costume design. 

Rathna Kumar, Bakkiyam Sankar serve as co-writers on Karate Babu which also stars Shakthi Vasudevan, K.S. Ravi Kumar, Nasser, Vtv Ganesh, Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalayaa Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandian, Sandeep Raj, Knife Naren, Sindhupriya, Ajith Gosh, Aravindh, Kalki Raja, Sri Dhanya, Anandhi, Ilan, Sam Anderson, Vetrivel, Nandhini Senthamizh.

 

A Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd production, Karate Babu‘s OTT rights are with Zee 5, and satellite rights with Zee Tamizh and Zee Thirai TV channels.
