Sivakarthikeyan’s Film With Jayam Ravi Gets A Title!

Actor Sivakarthikeyan had a grandeur success in his last outing Amaran which hit theaters under the direction of Rajkumar Periasamy with actress Sai Pallavi as female lead. The movie opened to mixed reviews from critics but had a great run in the box office. It also drew flak from a section of social activists. Shortly after the success of Amaran, it was announced that the actor will be teaming up with actor Jayam Ravi for an untitled project. This will be actor Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film. Story teller Sudha Kongara, known for projects such as Irudhi Suttru and Soorarai Pottru, will be directing the flick. She has penciled the story of the venture along with Arjun Nadesan. Writers Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy have penned dialogues for the drama. Telugu actress Sreeleela will be making her debut in Tamil cinema with her female lead role in the project. Actor Atharvaa is also on board to play a key part in the entertainer. The first schedule of shoot for the venture took place in Binny Mills last year. 

Now the production house has unveiled the title teaser of the drama on social media. The film is titled Parasakthi. Parasakthi is the title of 1952 vintage classic headlined by late legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan. Taking to their official X profile, Dawn Pictures shared a poster from the movie along with a link to the title teaser of Parasakthi and captioned it, “No more waiting. No more countdowns. Nearly two minutes long title teaser of Parasakthi opens to the back shot of actor Sivakarthikeyan walking in to what appears to be a college library and plays a MGR classic, ‘Acham enbathu madamaiyada anjamai dravidar udamaiyada.’ Following which we have a note, ‘Once upon a time in Madras.’ The shot cuts to actor Atharvaa as a college student trying to flee the campus with a group of students chasing him. Actress Sreeleela comes to his rescue. Then we have a shot where actor Jayam Ravi fires at a silhouette target with actor Sivakarthikeyan’s face in it. Finally, we have the introduction of the star standing in a terrace addressing a crowd, “There is a need for a battalion. There is a need for a large battalion.” The crowd echoes after him. 

The casting team is zeroing in on artists that will be part of the cast. An announcement regarding the same is expected to be made soon. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has been trusted with the musical division of the drama. The cinematography department of the venture will be overseen by Ravi K Chandran. Editor Sathish Suriya has been engaged to edit the entertainer. Art director Shanmugaraja will be erecting sets for the flick. Stunt director Supreme Sundar will be choreographing action moves for the movie. The entertainer is bankrolled by Aakash Baskaran for his home banner Dawn Pictures. Actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin will be releasing the flick under his production company Red Giant Movies. 

On the work front, actor Sivakarthikeyan is also shooting for SK24 scripted by A R Murugadoss in which he will be collaborating with newbie actress Rukmini Vasanth. On the other hand, actor Jayam Ravi will soon be seen on screens in the fantasy comedy flick Genie helmed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan in which he has performed alongside actresses Krithi Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Currently, the Brother actor is occupied in his next film tentatively titled JR 34 which is crafted by Ganesh K Babu of Dada fame.
