STR 49: Silambarasan TR’s new project announced marking 42nd birthday
Actor Silambarasan TR celebrates his 42nd birthday on February 3, 2025 and marking the occassion a new project of the Tamil star has been announced as STR 49 (tentative title). STR 49 is written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan who made his debut with the critically acclaimed thriller drama Parking in 2023.
STR 49 is produced by Dawn Pictures, a Tamil film production banner which already has two promising projects in its pipeline like Idly Kadai (Dhanush) and SK 25 (Sivakarthikeyan – Jayam Ravi – Sudha Kongara). Official announcements on the rest of the STR 49 cast and crew currently awaits.
STR 49 comes with the tagline ‘The Most Wanted Student’. The project announcement was accompanied by a poster which featured Silmbarasan TR’s backside holding a Mechanical Engineering second year college book with a bloodied knife in it.

STR 49 joins the list of projects in Silambarasan TR’s pipeline — Thug Life releasing June 5, 2025, STR 48 with AGS Entertainment and director Ashwath Marimuthu, and STR 50 with director Desingh Periasamy which is a Kamal Haasan production that has been pushed to 2026.
