Idly Kadai: Thaai Kelavi like folk number in Dhanush, Nithya Menen film
Actors Dhanush and Nithya Menen famously appeared in a coming-of-age romance drama titled Thiruchitrambalam (2022), which was a runaway hit in Tamil cinema that year. The movie fetched Nithya Menen a National Film Award for Best Actress, and was a musical hit too with songs by Anirudh Ravichander.
Thaai Kelavi from Thiruchitrambalam is a folksy dance number set in a village backdrop. Seemingly a similar folk song is now part of Idly Kadai, an upcoming Tamil movie that pairs Dhanush and Nithya Menen for the second time.
Idly Kadai has music by GV Prakash Kumar, and recently a leaked shooting spot video gave away that he has composed a folksy dance number for the movie. This dance number is placed in a rural backdrop, where the vintage Dhanush and Nithya Menen’s arc line is set.
Idly Kadai is also written, directed, and co-produced by Dhanush. The movie is expected to release this year.
